{"id":1468,"date":"2023-04-17T15:42:26","date_gmt":"2023-04-17T06:42:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medinfo.kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp\/local_kuhp\/wordpress\/?page_id=1468"},"modified":"2025-05-14T16:03:36","modified_gmt":"2025-05-14T07:03:36","slug":"admission-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/medinfo.kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp\/en\/admission-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Admission Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">We accept students only when the applicant\u00a0<strong>satisfies all following conditions in each case<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Case A) Non-regular students (KENKYU-SEI)\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>A-1) The applicant is requested to be a non-regular student by the funding program they rely on (such as MEXT scholarship program).<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>A-2) The research project or plan of the applicant fits our ongoing research projects.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>A-3) The personality of the applicant seems not problematic to go through the course in Japan.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>A-4) The applicant seems to have sufficient knowledge to pass the regular entrance exam of the course he\/she wants to participate in.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Case B1) Regular Master Course students\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">B1-1) The applicant passes the regular entrance examination of the course he\/she wants to participate.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Case B2) Regular Master course students (via AO entrance exam)\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>\r\n<div>B2-1) The applicant has scholarship to cover the whole period of his\/her study.<\/div>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>B2-2) The research project or plan of the applicant fits our ongoing research projects.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>B2-3) The personality of the applicant seems not problematic to go through the course in Japan.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>B2-4) The applicant seems to have sufficient knowledge to pass the regular entrance exam of the course he\/she wants to participate in.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Case C) Regular Ph.D. students\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>C-1) The applicant has clear funding support, especially the one without Japanese citizenship must have a scholarship to cover the whole period of his\/her study.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>C-2) The research project or plan of the applicant fits our ongoing research projects.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>C-3) The personality of the applicant seems not problematic to go through the course in Japan.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>C-4) The applicant seems to have sufficient knowledge to pass the regular entrance exam of the course he\/she wants to participate in.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Case D) Exchange Students\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>D-1) The applicant comes as a visiting student under a student exchange program between Kyoto University and his\/her original institution (including department level agreement).<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>D-2) The applicant is under strong supervision of a supervisor of his\/her original institution, who has the contact and deep discussion with one of our staff.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">For entrance examination, please check the following link.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.i.kyoto-u.ac.jp\/en\/admission\/application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.i.kyoto-u.ac.jp\/en\/admission\/application\/\">Graduate School of Informatics, Social Informatics (Masters, PhD)<\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.kyoto-u.ac.jp\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Graduate School of Medicine, Medicine (PhD)<\/a><\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We accept students only when the applicant\u00a0satisfies all following conditions in each case.
